  • Lodi Community Art Center 110 West Pine Street Lodi, CA, 95240 United States (map)

Hosted by: Marilyn Eger

SAFETY GUIDELINES

  • Class Size: Maximum of 4 students.

  • Masks and social distancing are required.

  • Each student will have their own table.

  • Instructor has had both COVID shots.

About the class: This class is suitable for all ages and all experience levels.

I will do a portrait demonstration the first hour and a half of the class. I will mix my colors and have student do the same so each student can become familiar with the colors. I will provide a sequence of colors that all students should use in setting up their palettes. I will discuss form shadows vs cast shadows.

After the demonstration you will work on your own painting and I will give critiques, coach and teach as the needs arise on an individual basis.

Class Fee: $200 for the two day class.

Notice needs to be sent to instructor at least 1 week before the class begins to receive a full refund.

Class Schedule: 9 AM to 4 PM each day

  • Day 1 - Saturday, May 15, 2021

  • Day 2 - Sunday, May 16, 2021

Class Size: Maximum of 4 students.

Required supplies: I will provide carbon paper and a flesh toned 11" X 14" canvas board. These can be picked up at the Art Center after you have signed up. (If you want to work larger, please provide your own canvas).

Each student needs to bring a photo of a person with dramatic lighting on the face so that the form of the head is easy to see. If possible, have your drawing on the canvas before you arrive at the class. If you do not draw, use the carbon paper to transfer the image to the toned canvas.

Make sure your reference face is large enough. (the height of the face needs to be about 7" tall). A 3/4 view is better than a full frontal. (It is more interesting.) If your photo is not large enough, take it to Staples and enlarge it.
