About the Artist
Clay has been a joy in my life since early childhood. This passion continued into college where, although an education major, I spent a tremendous amount of time in the clay studio.
While teaching elementary school, I began pursuing clay more seriously, taking professional level workshops and classes. At that time I started teaching ceramics in S.F. as well. At age 40 I made the transitions to full time potter. I never looked back or regretted the decision. Clay has been my best teacher. The appeal of childhood is still sustained: it responds so readily to the touch, directing me and challenging me to continue the exploration. For me the process is meditative: it allows ideas to develop and the clay’s basic nature has a voice in each piece I create.
