Call to Artists

The Lodi Community Art Center and Gallery (LCAC) presents its 6th Annual Juried Photography Show.  All interested photographers are invited to submit entries.  Work must be original to the artist.  Works accepted into a prior LCAC Photography Show are not eligible.  LCAC reserves the right to reject any work that has unacceptable subject matter.

You may enter up to five images of original works of photographic art via our on-line “SmarterEntry” System.  Works may be classic dark room photography, digitally enhanced and/or digitally created.  Entered works must have been created in the last 24 months.  Access to the on-line entry system (SmarterEntry}  is  Enter Here .   Entries require jpeg files and entry will not be complete until payment of entry fees are made.

As the artist, you can put your entries in any category.  However, LCAC and the Show Judge reserve the right to change the category of an image. 


LCAC Members:  $15 per entry, Non-Members:  $20 per entry.  Non-members are encouraged to join Lodi Community Art Center and enjoy the benefits of membership.  All fees are non-refundable.  Payment is made via the on-line SmarterEntry system.

Awards are given at the Judge’s discretion.  The Judge’s decisions are final.  Awards will be presented at the Artist Reception.  People’s Choice Award will be identified at the end of the show from tallying the votes of Show attendees.


Works must be for sale.  The LCAC will retain a 30% commission for members and a 35% commission for non-members on any sales during the show.  Accepted artists are encouraged to submit matted prints and/or cards of accepted works for sale in the LCAC Gallery during the show.  Artist should account for the commission when pricing works.  Payment for works sold will be sent in November.

Show Specifications

All works delivered must be wired, matted, framed and ready to hang on hooks.  Gallery wraps are acceptable.  Wired ends must be taped.  Longest dimension of each entry must not exceed 36 inches.  

All works will be on display for the duration of the show.  All works must include the artists name, address, phone number, email address, title and price on the back.  Artwork that differs from the accepted image entered will be rejected.

Delivery of Accepted Works

Works accepted into the show must be hand delivered to the LCAC Gallery on September 23 or 24, 2017 between 12 noon and 5:00 PM, or may be shipped to: Lodi Community Art Center

Shipped items must have a pre-paid return shipping label and arrive no later than September 25, 2016.  A check for $20 for handling fees must accompany shipped items.

Juror Gary Johnson

Gary Johnson is an international award-winning, certified professional portrait and landscape photographer from Sonora, CA.  Gary will receive his Master’s Degree in January 2018 at Images USA,
Nashville, TN.  Gary was recognized as “Landscape
Photographer of the Year” by the Professional

Photographers of California in 2016.  He is a retired 7th and 8th grade science teacher.  “I first became interested in photography when I taught black and white film photography to my students.  I loved to see their amazement as an image appeared on photographic paper.”  Gary displays and sells his work at the Aloft Gallery in Sonora.  He has traveled to many locations including New Zealand, Baniff NP, Jasper NP, Glacier NP, Yosemite NP, Maui, and the Columbia Gorge.  He loves to travel to capture photographic images that he can share with the world.  He feels that each image comes with a story of and adventure that only he can tell.  He believes that the fastest way to improve is to enter competitions.  It can be humiliating, but it always results in learning.
